Are you to busy to clean your home? How about the ability to find things, can you do that in a snap? If not you may be in need of getting outside help. That is a …help is not a bad word but you should know how to select the right kind of help that you need. Getting help that spurs more work on your part just doesn’t make sense. The added expense, the stress of having some other woman see how you live etc. are all fears and aggravations that many professional women go through.

Many people are just plan so busy with work and at times things may slip their minds. If mega successful entrepreneurs forget to pay their taxes, of course you could forget many “small” things to do as well. Who hasn’t forgotten a personal birthday, anniversary or even secretaries day? A personal assistant is a life preserver to the executive on the way up in your company.

If your are considering hiring someone like a personal assistant the process is likely no different from any others you have done before. If you want to hire a nanny of course you’ll want references, have them fill out an application, etc. Then there’s the interview. Once again it is no different than any other interview. But there are certain questions that potential employers cannot ask. Easily you could consult a lawyer and that would be the right thing to do. But NOLO.com has tons of resources pertinent to this conversation. You should really check out their materials that are germane for your state of operations first before paying for legal advice.

Basic personal organizer interview questions that you can use:

1. How long have you been working in this profession?

2. Are there any areas that are your strongest (weakest)?

3. What are your outside interests or hobbies?

4. Please describe your last three jobs and what were your most likeable moments there?

5. What about your educational background would make you an ideal candidate for this position?

6. Please provide any references if you’ve been employed as a PO by anyone?

These are basic interview type questions that you can just tailor to your specific needs. Of course if you need a personal assistant that is proficient in Microsoft Office products, do not be hesitant to ask for their proficiencies. Being a personal organizer is very fulfilling work for most people in the profession. You are considering adding them to your team so that you can be more efficient and productive. Above all, you need to rebalance your life so that you can get more done in less time and enjoy time doing things you’d like to do.
