But not for you only because there are other people that are wearied with the amount of time wasted searching for things in their closets.

What these people have in common is the need for using some or all of the top 5 organizing tip sheet solutions revealed in this article!

Lets be realistic about this. Organizing your closet is one of the most powerful things you can do. It will buy you more time and deliver a sense of accomplishment and peace that helps you to relax.

Here are the top 5 organizing tip sheet answers to your most asked questions (be sure to comment if you have more items you’d like for us to answer in future posts).

Top Organizing tip number one:
Discard any unused clothing. Easier said than done. If you live in a four season climate then of course you may want to hang onto something. But most of the you do not. You should go through your closet and discard ANY unused clothing. Giving them to the Goodwill or Salvation Army may result in a tax deductible gift but check with your tax expert for the real answer to that. You’ll be able to get so much room and space from clearing out the unused items its amazing.

As a rule of thumb if you have not worn the item in over 12 months it MUST go. Don’t get hung up on “oh I’ll wear it when I lose weight”. Just let it go. And when you lose weight some of your rewards may be a replacement of that item. Stop storing stuff in your basements that you know you’ll never wear either the smell of a basement gets into it or the water damage from a leaky basement or its out of STYLE by the time you get to it.

Organizing Tip number two:
Identification of problem areas up front will save loads of time later on when you actually go through the organizing process. Additionally it would really be better if you determine just how much space you or your spouse really needs.
For example having your trousers and sweaters on display all year is a space waste because most of the time you do not wear wool sweaters in the summer. Having a place to store your seasonal clothing is a blessing and will maximize your space and peace of mind. Try it and let us know your results.

Organizing Tip number three:
Exploit the space your drawers offer. They even have beds that have space underneath them. If you watch any television they have a space saving portable drawer that you can be at those “as seen on TV” type retailers that fits right underneath the bed. This means you are maximizing your drawer space and giving yourself a boost in storage. I believe you can get the same or similar portable drawers at Home Depot and Lowes also.

Organizing Tip number four:
Use the closet floor to keep your items sectionalized. Having a summer sandal section, a business shoe section, a casual shoe section instead of just having all shoes scattered about is a huge time saver. Most likely you’ll use one section more than another eg. work or casual.

Finally you can use the staking bins and containers for accessories and even better organization. These items again can be purchased at big box retailers, Bed Bath and Beyond or any storage store. Shopping online for these items is a breeze as they will ship them directly to your front door.
